Have an issue you care about? Join Troy Indivisible and friends to learn how to effectively lobby for issues at the NYS Legislature.
Jill L. from Progressive Schenectady will go over what to expect from different types of lobby days, from big rallies on the steps to small group meetings with representatives. Our other presenter, Steve G. of Troy DSA, works for Assembly. He’ll explain the internal dynamics of the Assembly, what issues our local elected officials care about, and how we can convince them on our issues.
Everyone has an issue they care about, so this will not focus on any particular piece of legislation. We aim to explain the overall dynamics so you can use your voice most effectively to lobby our representatives on the issues that matter to you. We’ll see you there!
Seized Film Screening

What’s the cost when corrupt local officials target community journalism? Find out at a free screening of the acclaimed new documentary Seized. The film will be presented by George Hearst III, publisher and CEO of Times Union. The screening will be followed by a panel discussion with director Sharon Liese and additional surprises throughout the evening. Seating is limited, and registration is required.
