Troy Indivisible plans and participates in events that celebrate, educate, and affect positive change in our community and country. We encourage involvement in local and state governance and promote voter participation, not just on election day but every day.
The focus of events can range from protesting actions that target marginalized groups to educating residents on pending legislation that can improve the daily lives of everyone. And sometimes, we just get together to enjoy each other’s company.

Have an issue you care about? Join Troy Indivisible and friends to learn how to effectively lobby for issues at the NYS Legislature.
Jill L. from Progressive Schenectady will go over what to expect from different types of lobby days, from big rallies on the steps to small group meetings with representatives. Our other presenter, Steve G. of Troy DSA, works for Assembly. He’ll explain the internal dynamics of the Assembly, what issues our local elected officials care about, and how we can convince them on our issues.
Everyone has an issue they care about, so this will not focus on any particular piece of legislation. We aim to explain the overall dynamics so you can use your voice most effectively to lobby our representatives on the issues that matter to you. We’ll see you there!

Join Citizen Action of New York’s Capital District Chapter at Albany’s Townsend Park to stand up for:

* Strong public schools
* ICE out of our communities
* Accountability from the people we elect
The Capital District’s members, neighbors, and community advocates are coming together to build the people power we need to continue the fight ahead.
